What is an Inspection?
An inspection in Fingertip is a systematic process used to evaluate and ensure the quality and compliance of products, processes, or services. Our Inspection App is designed to make this process efficient, thorough, and easy to manage. This page will explain how an inspection is structured within Fingertip and how it is linked to an order, providing a step-by-step guide to help you navigate and utilize the Inspection App effectively.
Structure of an Inspection
An inspection in Fingertip is structured around a series of steps and components designed to capture detailed and accurate information. Here’s how an inspection is organized:
- Inspection Checklist: This is the core of any inspection. It consists of predefined criteria and tasks that need to be evaluated. Each item on the checklist ensures that specific aspects of the product or process are examined. This checklist is also called TEMPLATE, which you need to create before being able to conduct an inspection.
- Documentation: During the inspection, you can attach photos, videos, and notes to each checklist item. This provides visual and written evidence of your findings, making the inspection report comprehensive and detailed.
- Status Updates: Each checklist item can be marked with a status (e.g., pass, fail, not applicable). This helps in tracking which items meet the standards and which need attention.
- Comments: You can add comments to provide additional context or details about any specific findings during the inspection. This is useful for highlighting any issues or observations.
- Summary Report: At the end of the inspection, a summary report is generated. This report consolidates all the findings, documentation, and comments, providing a complete overview of the inspection.
Link between Order and Inspection
Inspections in Fingertip are always linked to specific orders. This linkage ensures that the inspection process is directly tied to the orders/POs being delivered, allowing for precise quality control. Here’s how the linking process works:
- Order Selection: When setting up an inspection, you start by selecting the relevant order. This can be done by navigating to the 'Orders' section and choosing the order that needs to be inspected.
- Linking Items: Each order can contain multiple items. During the inspection setup, you can link specific items from the order to the inspection checklist. This ensures that each item is evaluated according to the inspection criteria.
- Inspection Execution: Once the order and items are linked, you proceed with the inspection. Use the checklist to evaluate each item, document your findings, and update the status for each checklist point.
- Real-Time Sync: As you conduct the inspection, all data is synced in real-time with Fingertip’s platform. This allows for immediate updates and ensures that all stakeholders have access to the latest inspection information.
- Finalizing the Inspection: After completing the checklist, review all entries to ensure accuracy. Generate the final inspection report, which will now be linked to the order. This report can be shared with relevant parties to confirm the quality and compliance of the items inspected.
